Writing Aloud’s Pride Month Reading was a huge success!

On June 30th, NYWC celebrated the last day of LGBT Pride Month with an installment of Writing Aloud, our quarterly reading series.   The crowd at the Jefferson Market Library listened enthusiastically as host Madeleine George introducted readers  Eileen Myles (The Importance of Being Iceland, Chelsea Girls, Cool for You), NYWC workshop leader Kate Payne, a NYWC participants Kevin, David Kerry Heefner, Martin Norregard, Seth ThomaS. The writers shared fiction, non-fiction, poetry, short stories and parts of novels that ranged from funny to beautiful to sad and everything in between. Thanks to everyone for coming out on a sticky summer evening. It was a great event!

Stay tuned for information on our next reading in the Writing Aloud Series, scheduled for  October 2010.
