NY Writers Coalition’s Fort Greene Summer Youth Program is right around the corner!

Now in its 11th year, NYWC’s Fort Greene Park Summer Youth Program is a fun, six-week series of free Saturday creative writing workshops for youth in the New York City area. The workshops serve 6-12 year olds and teenagers in separate, dynamic and innovative writing groups designed to create a safe space for young writers to find their voices and explore all genres of creative writing. On the seventh week, our young writers are invited to share their work alongside established poets and writers in the  Fort Greene Summer Literary Festival on August 22.

Lit Fest provides a means for self-expression and creativity for area young people while increasing the accessibility of the arts and literature for all — and we hope you and the young writers in your life will join us!

Workshops take place Saturdays @ 10:30-12:00 p.m. in Fort Greene Park. This year’s workshop dates are July 11, 18 & 25 and August 1, 8 & 15. Please plan to attend all six weeks.
