Creating & Preserving: Write with NYWC at the Weeksville Heritage Center

Join NY Writers Coalition at the Weeksville Heritage Center for a new six-week, creative writing workshop led by poet Angela Lockhart. This non-competitive workshop experience is designed to help you create new writing and stretch your imagination with ideas rooted in history, social and magical realism, Afro-futurism, personal memory, dreams, and storytelling techniques.

Angela M. Lockhart

ABOUT ANGELA LOCKHART-ARONOFF

Angela Lockhart-Aronoff is a poet and performance artist with a day job. She has offered summer creative writing workshops at the World Fellowship Center in New Hampshire and has served as Artistic Director and writing consultant with folk singer Bev Grant and the Brooklyn Women’s Chorus. An NYWC workshop leader since 2010, Angela taps her social service and educational theatre experience to lead creative writing workshops for people living in women’s shelters and homeless community residences in NYC.
 
Angela’s poetry is published in the anthology of political female poets, From the Web, and several of her poems have been published by NY Writers Coalition Press in the anthology What if Writing is Dreaming Together?  She has also self-published a chapbook, What Is It You Think You See?
