A Lit Fest dream come true

Lit Fest STD

NYWC’s 12th Annual Fort Greene Summer Literary Festival
Saturday, August 20 @ 2:00 p.m. at BRIC (647 Fulton Street)

Presented by NY Writers Coalition, Akashic Books & Greenlight Bookstore

We’re excited to partner with Greenlight Bookstore and Akashic Books to present the 12th Annual Fort Greene Summer Literary Festival! This year we return to the neighborhood’s premier community space BRIC (647 Fulton Street) to celebrate a summer of storytelling, with writers in our summer youth program (6-18 years old) reading alongside published writers for an inspiring afternoon of literature.

This year’s lineup features three highly acclaimed young black women novelists: Kaitlyn Greenidge, author of We Love You, Charlie Freeman, Yaa Gyasi, author of Homegoing, and Nicole Dennis-Benn, author of Here Comes the Sun. Writer Chris Prioleau returns as the MC of this exciting event with Brooklyn-based band tubafresh, bringing generations of writers together to build on the rich literary traditions of Fort Greene. A reception follows the reading with wine, lemonade and cake for all attendees.
