Welcome to the inaugural issue of
Plum Biscuit, the e-zine of NY Writers Coalition. The fiction and poetry you are about to embark upon was graciously submitted by writers from near and afar, like Bathgate, Scotland; the UK; the Netherlands; Santa Fe, NM; Uniontown, PA; Jamesberg NJ; as well as right here in New York City.

The stories chosen here seem to represent what NY Writers Coalition is all about: the manifestation of human life and all of its emotions presented as the elegance of the written word on the page. It’s as if we were running a writing workshop with the world.

We present to you now the Plum Biscuit, a range of the poetic and the literary, eye, brain and heart nourishment for you the quintessential reader.

The editors would like to thank all the writers who have submitted your work. It was all wonderful to read and please feel free to submit again. You are all very gifted.

We thank our fearless leader Aaron Zimmerman for his vision and encouragement all along the way. We thank the bright, bright Valerie Cihylik who helped us launch with her humor and expertise. We thank all our fellow NYWC participants, poets, storytellers, members and donors, facilitators and administrators.
