The Writing Aloud quarterly reading series presents writers from the NYWC community reading alongside established and emerging writers.  Our writers are presented as peers with published and award winning, well-known authors, getting previously silenced stories heard by new audiences.

Our Writing Aloud readings have celebrated Pride Month, NYC Immigrant Heritage week, Black History Month, the work of the formerly incarcerated,  and many others.  Past featured readers include Lemon Andersen, Sinan Antoon, R. Erica Doyle, Eileen Myles, Tiphanie Yanique and many more.  Readings take place at Greenlight Bookstore, Jefferson Market Library, South Oxford Space and elsewhere.
