THREE-PEAT: A Genre Workshop Series

THURSDAYS / 7 – 9 p.m. ET VIA ZOOM
May 23 – June 27

NY Writers Coalition staff aren’t just administrators who produce some of your favorite workshops online and in person. We’re skilled poets and writers who explore literature and craft on our own time, and we try to infuse that passion into all our offerings. Now you have the chance to write with us firsthand!

Join NYWC’s Program Director Calley Anderson, Director of Strategic Programming & Communications Judith Ohikuare, and Artistic Director UGBA for a genre-spanning series of writing workshops in May and June. Each staff member will lead a two-week section on a specific genre that will examine craft, offer writing prompts, and provide tips and tools for further exploration.

Weeks 1 and 2, led by Judith, will focus on flash and microfiction and the art of crafting short stories with a huge impact. Weeks 3 and 4, led by UGBA, will focus on poetry. Weeks 5 and 6, led by Calley, will focus on dramatic writing (stage and screen); participants will learn about the basics of scriptwriting and what makes a script strong from the start.

PRICE: $50/session

THREE-PEAT is a fundraising workshop; proceeds will go toward NY Writers Coalition’s spring fundraiser to keep our work alive in the face of significant challenges. You’re welcome to attend as many (or as few!) sessions across the six weeks as you’d like by purchasing individual sessions, bundles by genre, or a bundle of all six weeks.
